Running Towards A Hundred Hundreds

Sachin sure knows how to keep on going, doesn't he? It was so great to watch him (well not really - I read it live on cricinfo!) play with an ease that is so typical of him. I was personally glad to note that he took about 50 balls to get from 50 to 100.

Furthermore, that's his second international hundred on the trot and third in the last four tests. This has added fuel to every one of his fans' dream now - a hundred 100's in international cricket for Sachin. I hope he gets there before he hangs his boots. It seems a realistic hope considering his current run of form.

As far as the record for most test hundreds and runs are concerned, I feel it's getting increasingly likely that Ricky Ponting might not wrench away the records after all. He's not exactly enjoying the purple patch he had hit a couple of years ago and he's just scored one century in six recent tests against South Africa (which also included three ducks for the Australian :))

I'm certain that Sachin will indeed leave these milestones bearing his impressions for a long time to come. All the best, and set off to yet another 100...
